What We Have LearnedImpact on teaching and learning
Evaluation of ISKME’s Fellowship Program has shown that the program has helped participants:
“I love checking in with the other
Fellows during our meetings and
seeing what everyone else is doing.
The Fellowship keeps you on task, on
check with your own growth, and
accountable for your work. It is very
motivating.”
What Participants Have Said About Their Fellowship
“The Fellowship complimented what
I hoped to teach this year, and gave
me the support to make it happen.”
Case Study: Math Teacher
Example from Jason Rothgeb, high school math teacherin Chicago, Illinois is:• Transforming his math course from a lecture format to a
“flipped format”: Students now review Khan Academy math videos at home, and do group work in the classroom
• Developing math OER based on this model, and aligned to his school’s learning standards
• Working with students to collaborate online and document their work as part of his curriculum
1. Partner with schools to create opportunities for the improvement of teaching and learning
2. Enable teachers to use, adapt, and align open content to SEC curriculum standards
3. Positively impact student outcomes, and overall help to prepare Qatari students for a knowledge-based economy
Goals of the Fellowship Program (Qatar)
