INTRODUCTION

Mathematics is considered as the queen of science. There are so many school based and community based resources for teaching and learning mathematics. The main resources for teaching and learning mathematics are Human resources, Natural resources and man made resources. Natural resources include Mathematical founding environmental phenomena. Congruence, similarity, ratio and proportion, geometric shapes, symmetric property etc includes in this resource. Man made resources are mathematical laboratory, mathematics club, mathematical exhibition, fare etc… Locally available experts in mathematics is considered as the human resources in mathematics

HUMAN RESOURCES IN MATHEMATICS

The department of Science and Technology sanctioned a project, “Human resource development in Mathematics” to foster the development of mathematics in India. The project consists of various schemes meant to support initiatives from universities and institutions in India to further the development of mathematics in the country. One of the schemes under this project is that to promote the mobility of human resources in mathematics in India. Three kinds of activities are envisaged under this scheme.

1. Adjunct and visiting professors from abroad

Mathematics departments of various Indian universities teaching institutions are encouraged to identify mathematicians to repute from abroad and to invite them to visit their departments as visiting faculty or a fixed period of two months to deliver lecture courses and to interact with local faculty. The financial support for this consists of an honorarium of Rs. 35000 per month for the visiting faculty. Travel expenses and local hospitality will be covered, in addition to the payment of honorarium.

2. Visiting professors from India

This is along the lines of preceding activity, except that visiting professors are Indian mathematicians of repute and the length of each visit is between one and three months and the honorarium is Rs 20000 per month other conditions remains unchanged.
