Description
• OPEN Washington is an Open Educational Resources network dedicated to providing easy and accessible pathways for faculty to learn, find, use, and apply OER into their teaching practice.
Background
• During the qualitative study conducted in 2014, faculty stressed the need for a central web site that would provide a comprehensive guide in exploring and adopting OER.
• In response to this need, SBCTC launched the OPEN Washington site in 2014.
• In 2016, SBCTC launched a new Open Washington with a strong focus on policy, community and accessibility.

• Learn OER: Self-paced modules that walk users through incorporating OER into their teaching practice.
• Find OER: A solicited and categorized search guide for all types of OER.
• OER Stories: Faculty sharing their personal journey in implementing OER.
• OER News: The OER news distribution center for Washington college system.
New Features• Accessibility with OER: Tips and advice to increase accessibility
in developing OER.
• OER Policy Videos: A series of multimedia presentations in OER policy and impact.
• Open Attribution Builder: An application that helps users easily cite OER.
• Copyright & Open Licensing FAQ: A collection of the most frequently discussed inquires and the recommendations from the experts.
• At Our Colleges: Washington colleges’ OER on campus implementations.
New Features
• The website was redesigned from the ground up with extensive input from experts in web accessibility and universal design.
• The content has been rigorously reviewed by our colleagues in the Open community for accuracy and quality.
