AB Shetty Memorial Institute of Dental Sciences (ABSMIDS), a unit of NITTE Education, is attached to Oman Dental faculty. ABSMIDS is held in high esteem in India& Internationally. ODC is one among its types within the country of Oman. The academic year 2006 saw admission of 1st batch of scholars. Afterwards, it's growing exponentially.

The college offers a graduate program in Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS). The Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) Program is split into BDS I, BDS II, BDS III, & BDS IV & V.BDS I deals with medical science subjects like biochemistry, general anatomy, histology & Physiology. Head & Neck Anatomy, Embryology, Genetics, & Bio-statistics are included. BDS II focuses on General Pathology & biology, pharmacology, Oral biology, Dental bio-materials science, & Dental theory. Clinical skills are increased with the practice on patient simulators within the laboratory. BDS III includes of students treating patients under the direction of superiors. It is at this part students place the theoretical information in to application. Students learn the ability of the profession. BDS IV & V expose students to perform complicated ways of treatment. This exposure prepares the scholars for independent practice. The Clinical component plays a crucial role within the dental coaching.

At Oman Dental College, a good stress is set on effort & developing sound professional clinical skills whereas learning the BDS program. The library is full of all relevant & professional medical specialty books, dental & oral journals & selects general written language. The librarian staff is trained & extremely proficient.
