Types of Applications
Early Decision – *Binding* Early Action
Regular Decision Rolling Admission
Different versions of these can be found in various systems, for example, some universities in HK do early decision and Canada does Rolling
Admission but doesn’t announce it.

We encourage global-mindedness; however, we recommend that students and parents narrow university
choices down to ONE country.
At the end of the day a choice must be made.
A country and its universities are not “safeties”.

The DCI Network has a policy of 10 applications per student. Yield

Rule of Thumb: 2 reaches, 2-4 targets and 1 safety

Types of Applications
ED – Early Decision *Binding*EA – Early Action
RD – Regular DecisionRolling Decision
Varies from country to country, but ED is recommended and statistics show a substantial difference in acceptance rates

What the Student is Responsible For Sending Application/Application Fee Essays/Personal Statements
Supplemental Materials Letters of Recommendation from non-faculty members

What DCB Sends Transcript
High School Profile
Secondary Reports/Counsellor Recommendations
Mid-Year Grades
Letters of Recommendations from Teachers (usually 2)

How We Send Documents All documents will be sent electronically
Students and parents will be given ‘UNOFFICIAL TRANSCRIPTS’ only upon request
Official transcripts will be sent directly to all institutions and will not be given to third-parties under any circumstances.
We are happy to accommodate students who need transcripts or other documents stamped by their embassy by providing
the service on specific dates per our transcript policy on Naviance.

“connections” at universities
