1. Choose your favorite 3 photographers from the list provided and write your name and your choices in priority order on the sheet on the front table.

2. Once everyone has made their choices, I will finalize each student’s photographer – you may not get your first choice. (First come, first served).

3. Research your photographer in books and on the internet – use reputable resources & save them.

4. Compile what you have learned into a presentation that will give the viewer complete information about your photographer.

✓ Photographer’s name & your name on 1st slide✓ 8-12 examples of their work

➢ Including title of the image, and date (if available)✓ 8-12 total slides

➢ Each slide should include images and text✓ Presentation is 3-5 minutes long

➢ You can use note cards or the notes section on PPT✓ MINIMUM of 3 references on last slide

✓ Where do they live and/or work?➢ Include details on birthplace as well as where they

spent time photographing✓ What kind of camera & equipment do they use?

➢ Don’t just list the equipment, explain how it works and why the photographer chose it

✓ What process or technique do they use?➢ Explain how they created and edited their pictures

– darkroom, Photoshop, posing, backgrounds, lighting, planning, studio, street, candid, etc.

✓ What style is their work?➢ Do they photograph landscapes, portraits, photo

journalism, etc. AND define or explain what the style is

✓ What concepts or themes appear in their work?➢ Explain what the work is about, the meaning,

themes, ideas, etc. What is the message or purpose?

✓ What influences their work & creative decisions?➢ Why did the photographer make the creative

choices they did? Who was an influence on them?
