Skyline Education Group was set up in 1996 in India and in 2002 was appointed as a Branch Campus of MAHE, Manipal, a UGC recognised Deemed University and a University Study Centre of Sikkim Manipal University a UGC recognised University. Skyline Business School has also been appointed a Study Centre of Maharshi Dayanand University for Management programmes and is in process of being appointed as a centre for MBA and BBA Industry Integrated regular programmes of Maharshi Dayanand University. Many students generally display limited skill sets. It has been Skyline’s endeavour to maximise each student’s professional & social skills and prepare them for responsible positions at the place of work. Management games bring out those areas which need most attention, among them being communication (written, verbal and body language), personal presentations, ability to work in teams, leadership & qualities of tolerance. HR experts also give training by identifying attitudes as well as personal goals and drivers. In each semester special emphasis is also laid on corporate requirements and ability to understand each incumbency, face competition and sustain positions, as well as the ability to stay updated in the changing environment and stay ahead in knowledge of the relevant work area.

Mock interviews and group discussions are held / conducted to test whether the students have been able to develop the skills they initially lacked. Students are also encouraged to participate in inter college events on areas of professional competence like business quizzes, paper presentations, business plans and advertising events.

The summer training performance appraisal indicates the personal growth and development after one year.

Skyline Education Group, over the years, as a part of students and faculty interaction with industry, has taken up a number of consultancy projects and training in different areas.

Some of the major assignments have been:

A project in association with India Business Solutions for HONDA Japan–the study researched

and gauged the success / failure factors of various MNC’s and top business houses on best management practices in India. Research work was carried out in 3 major metros–Delhi, Mumbai and Bangaluru.

A study in association with CII and AT Kearney on the perception of India by foreign tourists.

The research covered all aspects of Indian Tourism as perceived by tourists from outside India, while at the exit point at IGI Airport, Delhi. The study spanned research conducted on 1000 tourists spread over a fortnight.

Students of Skyline Institute of Travel & Tourism worked with CII for the 1 st, 2nd and 3rd

International conference cum showcase, India : Tourism & Heritage held at Agra. This activity provided a hands-on experience in Event Management of global standards.

BPO Training for 240 executives of Daksh for their US Airline clients was undertaken.

More trainings have been conducted for middle management executives in HR related

programmes spanning team building, motivation & leadership techniques.

Mr. Amrish Sahgal Dean - Academics & Tourism Faculty MBA - IIM Ahd.

Mr. Amrish Sahgal pursued his Bachelor of Commerce (Honours) degree from the University of Pune in 1967 before going on to do his MBA from IIM Ahmedabad in 1969.Mr. Sahgal holds a higher level Diploma in Sales Management & Salesmanship from the London Chamber of Commerce.

He also attended a course on Hotel Marketing at Cornell University, USA. He holds a Master of Exchange certifi cate from Interval International – one of the world’s leaders in Timeshare Management.He has had wide ranging experience with various organisations engaged in sales and marketing of consumer goods and services. These organisations have included multinationals and large Indian transnational groups like Tatas, Birlas and Oberois and the ITC group. For many years now, he has concentrated on the Services sector, in particular the Hospitality and Tourism Industry.Mr. Sahgal currently runs his own management consultancy fi rm engaged in Hospitality and Tourism Sectors. Prior to this, he was President, Alsa Resorts and before that, Dy Managing Director of Bhutan Tourism Corporation Ltd. He has also been the GM Marketing of Dalmia Resorts International.Mr. Sahgal has represented Skyline on the prestigious CII National Committee on Tourism & Heritage and those of IATO and TAAI. During his 5-year stint with Oberoi Hotels, Mr. Sahgal, in addition to his other functional responsibilities, headed the Marketing Faculty at the prestigious Oberoi School of Hotel Management for over two years. He also conducts a number of in-house training programmes for corporate houses.At present he is representing Skyline on the Education, HRM and Tourism committees of FICCI & ASSOCHAM

Prof. Debabrata DebHe has a B.Tech from IIT, Delhi and a PGDM from IIM, Ahmedabad. He has three decades of industry experience and his area of strength is tracking the evolut ion of cus tomer needs and innovation. He has hands on knowledge of Marketing, Product Development,

Technology Development, Innovation and Evolution of Business Strategy. He is currently a Consultant to companies in the Packaging Industry and a teacher of Management concepts.

Professor D. Deb has been associated with Skyline Business School ever since he came into Teaching and Consultancy in 2007 and is proud of his association with Skyline. She has set up home & consumer loans marketing activity for a CA fi rm. As Manager, Investment Banking Division of Apple Finance Ltd. at Mumbai, she has grossed a corporate experience of more than fi ve years before shifting to equity research at Quasar India Ltd.

Mr. Rupan KhoslaRupan Khosla, an alumnus of IIM Calcutta, in his last role as CEO of a UK based IT Services Company was responsible for their Software and BPO business. He is a certified Quality trainer with wide experience in Software Systems Integration Projects, Software Outsourcing, Transition and

Operations Management, Project Management and Sales. He also has been associated with Skyline for 14 years and has conducted courses on Team Building, Change Management, International Business and Business Awareness, Presentation and Communication Skills etc. Rupan attended the “Managers for Leadership” program at Leeds University Business School under the Chevening Scholarship and was the only one selected from the Indian IT Industry in 1998 for the Program. From the last 5 years Rupan Khosla has co-founded iQuotient Consulting Pvt. Ltd. providing consulting and training solutions to the, IT Software and HR functions.
