Project Management Process Table• 5 Process Groups
• Initiation, Planning, Executing, Monitoring & Controlling, and Closing
• 10 Knowledge Areas
• Integration, Scope, Time, Cost, Quality, Human Resources, Communication, Risk, Procurement, and Stakeholder.
• 47 Total Processes
• Processes are categorized by Process Group and Knowledge Area.

Quality Management Overview Quality Management is the knowledge area that covers quality concepts and
principles used to ensure the project satisfies the needs of why the project was taken. Quality is the degree to which a set of inherent characteristics fulfill requirements.
Quality Management is made of 3 processes:
• 3 processes in the Quality Knowledge Area• Plan Quality Management (Planning)• Perform Quality Assurance (Execution)• Control Quality (Monitoring & Controlling)
5
Quality Management OverviewTotal Quality Management
• Dr. Edward Deming• Quality should be planned and not inspected after product is completed.• Be Pro-Active, not reactive• Leadership and accountability• Measure and Strive for constant improvement.
6
Quality Management OverviewZero Defects
• Philip Crosby• Do something right initially, and you shouldn’t have to repeat it.
7
Quality Management OverviewFitness For Use
• Joseph Juran• Who is the end user, and how do we satisfy the end user.• The customer and the stakeholder are defined and then attempted to satisfy.
8
Quality Management OverviewKaizen – Continuous Improvement
• Japanize word for Continuous Improvement• Proactive stance to on-going process improvement• Capability Maturity Module Improvement (CMMI)• Organization Project management Maturity Model (OPM3)

Planning – Plan Quality Management
• Plan Quality Management is the initial process that creates the Quality Management Plan, Process Improvement Plan, Quality Metrics, Quality Checklist, and Project Documentation Updates. Its inputs are:
• The Project Management Plan – Includes the scope baseline, schedule baseline, Cost baseline, and other management plans.
• The Stakeholder Register - Helps identify stakeholders
• Risk Register – Provides information on Threats and Opportunities that may impact quality.
• Requirements Documentation -
• Enterprise Environmental Factors – Factors that can influence the Quality Management Plan.
• Organizational Process Assets – Assets than can influence the Quality Management Plan.
