Morning contributions to pollution

• I get into my 2004 Ford Explorer Sport Trac and drive to school.

• I reach into my closet and pull out a t-shirt on a plastic coat hanger.

Page 3: Pollution agenda project

Solutions

• I could join a carpool, or I could walk/ride a bike to school.

• I could use more environmentally friendly wood coat hangers, or just fold my clothes and put them in my dresser.

Midday contributions to pollution

I drink a bottle of Gatorade every day for lunch, and then throw the bottle away.

When not in school, I turn the thermostat down during midday because the temperature outside rises.

• I could save the plastic bottles and refill them with Gatorade made from powder and water mixed together.

• I could set the thermostat to a single temperature, and drink ice water when I become too warm.

Evening contributions to

pollution• I drive my Sport Trac home from school, and then drive back to school for baseball practice.

• I take my dad’s Ford F-250 and fill it up with diesel fuel.

• I use plastic cooking utensils to prepare dinner.

Page 7: Pollution agenda project

Solutions• I could stay at school after school and

before practice, therefore limiting my driving.

• I could fill my dad’s truck up with bio-diesel. (Although more expensive, it is worth the cost in the long run for the environment.)

• I could buy and use wooden cooking utensils to prepare dinner.
