• Parody: is an imitation of the style of a particular writer, artist, or genre with deliberate exaggeration for comic effect.
• There is parody in Dance Flick because they imitate and refer to over 40 different films so of which include “step up 2” and “Save The Last Dance”
Background stuff
The film reflects over 40 different other films, meaning that viewers that have seen the films will recognise them and will want to watch dance flick, giving It a wider audience.

• There is nothing new in dance flick, as there are vital sections taken from other films. This can be good as a wider audience is called but can also be negative because some viewers may see this as repetition and in term find it boring.

• There is hybridisation in Dance Flick because there is a mixture of comedy, romance, drama. As it is a hybridity and can attract mass audiences because different people like different genres and there is more than 1 genre in this film which can lead to gaining a larger audience.
