As the reputation of JIMS goes, only classroom teaching is never the
game. Gearing up for the course to be new budding management
graduates students visited production plant of the leading player in
mineral water segment: BISLERI (A PARLE India undertaking) on
July 7 &10, 2015.

(July 23, 2015)
ACTIVITIES - TRIMESTER –I (JULY –SEP.’15)
A session was conducted by the representatives of Tata Power Delhi
Distribution Limited (TPDDL) on Energy conservation and safety.
The speakers with the help of audio – visual presentation created an
awareness on importance of energy and electricity, its conservation
and need for opting for Green concept such as enhancing the usage
of online services as against paper work.

“DAILY PIO,HEALTHY JIO”, the commercial was the only way most
of us recognise the brand “YAKULT”. On August 3rd& 4th, 2015, the
students of PGDM I year, JIMS Rohini went for an Industrial Visit to
Yakult Danone India Pvt Ltd. The Yakult manufacturing plant with
ISO9001:2008, HACCP and OHSAS 18001:2007 certified state-of-
the-art facility is located in Rai, Sonepat, in Haryana.

ACTIVITIES - TRIMESTER –I (JULY –SEP.’15)
“Nurturing your ROOTS to CORPORATE ROUTE”. The event was
designed to share with young budding managers the necessities as
ESSENTIAL for facing turbulence and challenges with the
CORPORATE. The theme message was explored through live
experience sharing , role play , story telling ,videos and creative
puzzle to unlock mind with creativity focus in solution.

PGDM students of 1st year went for an industrial trip to the Mother
Dairy head quarters at Patparganj, Delhi.
Mother Dairy, set up in 1974 is known for its hygiene and good
quality of milk and agro products.

Recognising the significance of the multigenerational workforce and
its impact at workplace JIMS Rohini organised HR Summit on 19
September 2015 at India Habitat Center,New Delhi on the theme
“Harnessing Multigenerational Workforce”. Several HR Executives
and managers from leading organisations attended one day event.
Apart from them, many freelance HR personnel, faculty members
and students majoring in HR also participated.

Workshop was conducted with the aim to give exposure to the budding
managers as to the nuances associated in dealing with BOSS,
SUBORDINATES and COLLEAGUES in sourcing solution at the corporate.
It is a fact that the young managers more often than not do confront the
problem at the corporate and in the absence of a basic understanding to
deal with the situation for lack of exposure end up in getting the issue
complicated.

JIMS celebrated Dandiya Dhamaal on the occasion of Navratra.
Event was in the form of a Mela. Stalls for games, entertainment
and food were put up. A huge gathering of JIMS family enjoyed the
event. People danced on the beats of Dandiya songs.

INVESTOFIN - The finance club of JIMS organized the IPL Bidding
Simulation Game. The activity aimed at showcasing the team
management and the decision making skills in students. Also, giving
a brief idea about real time auctioning and bidding, funds
management and portfolio management to students.

Guest Session by Mr.Tarun Bansal is Managing Director, Blue Pigeon
(Marketing and Brand consultancy and communications). Apart
from Blue Pigeon, he has lately ventured into DigiMate, a digital
marketing institute, started in June 2015 and another one in the
field of travelling, Backpack Vacations catering to the experience
sharing of travellers across the world.

personality and corporate trainer and President awardee. The main
point of discussion in the whole session was “how to present
yourself in an interview”. She talked about dressing, things to carry
for an interview, and assessment during an interview.

InvestoFin – Finance Club of JIMS organized a Virtual Stock Trading
Competition – STOCKMIND which was conducted by ICICI direct -
Centre for Financial Learning. StockMIND is India’s biggest virtual
stock market competition and has benefited lakhs of students
across hundreds of colleges all over India. The introductory session
was conducted by Mr. Dishanshu Tripathi, Regional Manager –
North, ICICI direct - Centre for Financial Learning.

The guest for the session was Ms. Ronita Ghosh who holds a
Masters degree in Human resource Management and is an HR
professional with over 12 years experience with organizations
such as Pepsi, Genpact & Catalyst.
The speaker explained ways and procedures through which
one can set goals and ultimately achieving them. She
explained the various roles and profiles that are offered by
corporate in these operational areas and the expectations
from the new trainees.

'Issues and Challenges
in Sales and Marketing‘

The speaker was Dr.Amit Pareenja, Business Development
Manager, Vodafone Global Enterprise.
Dr. Pareenja discussed the various challenges that are faced
by the companies as well as the sales person in the market
place. Students interacted with him throughout the session
by seeking clarifications and raising queries.

Application of Excel in
HR
(25th Jan.’16)
Workshop was organized by the faculty Dr. Pratima
Daipuria and the resource person was Mr Pankaj Gupta, HR
Associate, Acidaes Solutions Pvt. Ltd (CRMNext).
The 3 hours activity was the first in the series of such
workshops that shall focus on providing practical hands-on
training to the students, who would be opting for HR as
their career option. The trainer gave introductory
knowledge of MS-Excel applications, which are essentially
required in HR profile.

PGDM 2015-17 batch got a chance to interact with Mr. Ashu
Malhotra, the Chief HR Executive Officer at JABONG.COM.
The focus of the discussion was on growth potential of E-
commerce in India. Based on his vast experience and
expertise, he said that the coming times will be of “Internet
of things “ (IOT) where most of the business transactions
will be online.

LEAD Start up Conclave
(28th Jan.’16)
Entrepreneurship club members from JIMS PGDM
programme attended the LEAD Start up Conclave at
Maharaja Agrasen College, Delhi University on 28th
January, 2016.
The event had speakers with immense experience and
knowledge. It was aimed at sharing the Ifs and Buts of
Entrepreneurship challenges.

(2nd Feb. ’16)
Youth power renaissance’16 was conducted on 2nd February,
2016 at the campus of Jagan Institute of Management studies,
Sector-5, Rohini, Delhi through ‘Nukkad Natak’ competition
among various colleges. The topics were Energy Conservation,
Theft of Electricity and Unethical Activities. Event was organized
in association with TATA Power Delhi Distribution Ltd.
The chief guest for the event was Mr. SK Saini, Chief commercial
officer, Tata Power Delhi Distribution Ltd. and the judges were
Mr. Brajamohan Panigraha, TPDDL, Ms. Pratima, JIMS, and Ms.
Kiran Gupta, TPDDL.

Financial Modelling
: Introductory Session
(4th Feb.’16)
The session was conducted by Mr. Kirandeep Singh, Co-
founder, Udaaan - an initiative by alumni from IITs to bridge
the gap between the industry and the academia.
The session aimed at imparting financial modelling skills
(on MS Excel platform) to the students which are
indispensable in the financial services and banking industry.

The speakers for the day were, Mr. Yuvraj Singh, Assistant

Sinha, Chief People Officer, Air Net Services.
All three speakers shared their experiences from classroom
to Corporate .

Surajkund Mela
(10th Feb.’16)
A trip to Surajkund International Crafts Mela, Faridabad
was organised on 10 February 2016 where students of
PGDM 2015-17 witnessed regional and international craft
and traditions, a celebrations of vibrant colours of Indian
folk culture and heritage.
The Craft Mela is the largest craft fair in the world and this
year Telangana was chosen as the theme state and
students witnessed the grandeur of handicraft and
handloom.

(NCFM)
(17th Feb.’16)
InvestoFin - Finance Club of JIMS organised “NSE’s
certification in Financial Markets (NCFM) – Online Exam” on
17th February 2016. The exam was organised for the
students of PGDM first year who are planning to opt for
finance as major or minor specialisation.
The online certification exam was conducted by Mr. Kunal
Tyagi,Assistant Manager, Business Development, National
Stock Exchange in the computer lab at JIMS, Rohini
campus.

“PITCH IT UP’
(20th Feb.’16)
The students had to put themselves in the shoes of an
entrepreneur and share their ideas on -1. Expanding an
existing business, 2. Starting own venture, 3. Intra-
preneurship (an innovation that can be initiated in the
organization you are a part of).
The participants had to present their creative idea in two
minutes with the help of a power point presentation
comprising Introduction, Innovation, Business execution
and Revenues

(20th Feb.’16)
The purpose of the session was to give an overview of
various aspects in the field of marketing with respect to
"specialization, selection & career".
The session was conducted by JIMS’ alumnus, Mr. Abhishek
bhambani student of PGDM marketing from batch 2006-08,
presently working as product manager at Future Brands
with a hand on experience of 7 years in the field of Masstige
Skin Care, Personal Care & Cosmetics industry.

‘AD MAD SHOW’
(24th Feb.’16)
JIMS Marketing Club organized an advertisement activity
‘AD MAD SHOW’.
In the First Round, they made a “TV commercial” within 15
minutes and presented it for a minute. ” The teams were
given different topics and they had to choreograph a
commercial to be performed on the stage.
In the second round students were asked to make a ‘radio
jingle’ all the teams were asked to prepare an audio jingle
on the theme ‘shopping aajkal- online shopping’.

JIMS organized Guest Lecture by Mr. Abhinav Sharma, who
holds a Master Degree in Management from MBA, Business
Administration, Management and Operations (S.P Jain
Institute of Management & Research) and has prior work
experience as a DGM with Jabong.com.
Now he has set up his own company named as Focus Digit.
He took a session on “SUPPLY CHAIN MANAGEMENT IN E-
COMMERCE”.

A workshop was organised by HR Club (Samanvay) at JIMS
on “HR practices in Coal India Ltd.” For PGDM (HR)
students on 4th March’ 2016. Key speaker was Ms. Kumari
Nivedita an alumnus of JIMS now associated with Coal India
as Assistant Manager HR.

Mock Campus for

students
(March 5,12,19 - 2016)
Mock campus process was held on Saturday, 5th, 12th and
19th, March, 2016 in the JIMS, Rohini campus for the PGDM-
I year batch 2015-17.
Students were exposed to real recruitment scenario of
group discussion and panel interview, in which panelist
were invited from corporate. Few outside experts were
senior alumni of JIMS, who are at senior positions in their
respective organizations.

The session was conducted by the JIMS Alumnus (Batch
2010-12) Ms. Nitasha Kapoor, Senior Consultant, Kelly
Services India Pvt. Ltd.
The session started with a brief explanation on the skills
required to crack the interviews. She gave an insight on the
importance of key skills which are demanded by the
potential employers in a globalised and rapidly changing
environment.

(March 19, 2016)
Resource person was Mr. Vivek Gupta from IMS Proschool, Delhi.
Vivek is an Engineer (Birla Institute of Technology) and MBA (Indian
Institute of Management, Bangalore) with over 20 years of
experience in the field of Banking and Finance.
The two and a half hour workshop, covered the following topics;
1. Careers in Finance
2. Overview and Application of Financial Modeling
3. Practical Example of Building a simple Financial Model
4. Practice Model which students can complete at leisure

A guest lecture by Mr. Sandeep Amar, CEO – Zee Digital and
a startup evangelist. A senior digital leader in the Indian
digital space, Sandeep is a veteran of the industry with
nearly two decades of experience.

and Pepsodent as Senior Brand Manager, Sales and Customer
Manager and Category Head.
