Page 2: Preliminary Task - Content Page

Before starting my content page I had clicked on layout then create guides so that I will have a simple guide of where everything will be such as the text and image.

I then split my page in two columns making one side larger then the other for my text. I also place a boarder around the page and created margins.

I then went back into Adobe Photoshop and imported the photos that I had previously taken. Using the tools provided I was able to rotate the images and using scale I was able to also change the size of the photos so that it was smaller. I then put a boarder around the photos and created more effect on the images by adding a stroke and bevel and emboss. This made the images stand out more.

I then opened the Adobe InDesign software, clicked on link and linked my saved Photoshop file with the InDesign which imported the 4 edited imaged that I had previously made. Using the rectangular tool in InDesign, I made 6 small boxes which I used for the numbers of the page.

From my content page plan that I previously made I copied all the text on to my page. I did this by using the text tool. I then changed my front size and type by using the different front size and text available while staying consistence in my theme and target audience.

To create the background, I clicked on swatch option and using the colours available I was able to create the colour brown witch is a neutral colour for both male and female sex and suitable for my magazine target audience.

For the heading “features” and “regulars” I used the rectangular tool and created a box making the words fit perfectly inside. To create more effect I then used the swatches options and made the box a tone lighter then the background. I then used the line tool and drew on a line on top of the box slightly separating the two different sections from one another.

To import my magazine logo I went back front cover and copied my masthead on to a blank paper. I then enlarged it and copied it on to my content page at the top left corner on top of the text. I used the grids to make sure that my magazine logo is lined up correctly and not over the boarders.
