Sergio A Leon, Paul Funtelo, Michael Ackerman and Fang Liu
The study implemented and evaluated a point of care wireless Internet accessUsing smart phones for information retrieval during daily clinical rounds and Academic activities of internal medicine in residents in a community hospitals.
They did the project to assess the feasibility of using smart phone as an alternative to reach on the medical sources because they were unable to find previous studies of this type. In addition, they wanted to learn what web-based information resources internal medicine residents were using and whether providing beside, real time access to medical information would be perceived useful for patient care and academic activities.
RESEARCH FINDINGSWHAT FINDINGS DID THE RESEARCH OBTAIN?
HOW DO THE RESEARCH RESULTS SUPPORT YOUR ARGUMENT?
1. Users perceived technology maturity is a critical factor to explain and predict
the use of mobile technology by mobile professionals.2. Mobile technology needs to be available in a broad variety of use
situations.3. Users require basic communication and productivity related
functionality in particular to support non-routine and supervisory task profiles.4. Mobile technology can have considerable impacts on the Job
performance and on the personal lives of its users.5. With a smart phone there is no use of going to the internet cafe and sit

CONCLUSIONAccording to the research I have done regarding smart phones I can conclude that smart phones have really made live easier for many people all over the world. Students find it easy to research about their school work and doctors are able to help patients online by giving them medical advice. And over the past years there seem to be an increase of people who buy smart phones every year ,so this shows that many are finding it very helpful and their really not that expensive as some people may predict. And by looking at the disadvantages, their not something that individually we can’t change, its a matter of being responsible and disciplined, there won’t be any disadvantage to consider when purchasing a smart phone.
