I asked mainly 13-19 teen year olds because they are the age group I have most access to. They are very involved with current hip hop music and have strong preferences to what they want to see. However I also asked other ages to have a range and variety of answers.

These results show that people spend very little time reading, from this I cant take that my magazine needs to be to the point and easy to flick through. Due to the 50% not intending to read over an hour I could present my factual content in bullet points.

What is your preferred genre of mag-azine?

45% of people asked prefer RnB music and 33% prefer reading Hip Hop magazines. This means my magazine has a large target audience as it includes both genres included. From these results I can see I have my the right decision to not do a classical or rock magazine. Additionally as most of the people I asked to fill in my questionnaire choose hip hop or RnB means all my answers will be valid and reliable.

This response highlights to me that the content and Images are the most important to the reader. From this I will make sure I included lots of images of artists as 15% said the artist was most important. Furthermore 15% the main interview was the most important, this means my double page spread will be n the middle of the magazine. I have selected the middle because if a magazine is opened that is where it naturally opens.

Looking at these results I have decide to definitely feature Beyonce (14%), Nicki Minaj ( 14%) and Drake (14%). Other artist I would consider are Kanye west (7%) and Jay z (10%).

From these results I have gathered It is clear that £1.50 is the favourite price for a magazine. However 50% would be willing to pay more, and 30% of that would pay up to £3.50. If I set my price at £3.50 that would mean that my budget would be higher and more money could be spent on the makings of the magazine. Which overall would improve the magazine making it better quality and worth the premium price.

50% of the people asked said that they would rate the front cover 7/10 when referring to importance. This is very high and means a lot of time and planning is needed for the front cover. Due to its high importance I need to include many aspects such as star appeal for the main image and high levels of branding ( what the model is wearing)

Due to the results before stating the front cover is highly important I can see from these results that my image needs to be the main aspect, as 50% say it will most likely to capture your eye. Additionally from these results I can see I need to mention which artists and what stories are featuring.

This demonstrates that within my magazine I should include artists, adverts of items of interest, and interviews with artists.

The most people would pay is £3.50. I think it would be a good idea because the magazine will still sell but make maximum profit. This is could be spent on more exclusive artist.

Most people, 60%, asked are influenced by the artist on the front cover, this means my magazine will need to include popular well known artists and the artist image needs to stand out compared to the rest of the page.

This connotes once again how important the front cover and artist on it is. The artist on the front will also be in the interview, which I can see if important to the consumers.

Drake, Jay-Z and Beyoncé featured frequently in the survey response, this highlights to be that they should be mentioned or included in my magazine.

The results indicate that what the artist plans to do next is vital in an interview. I can also see that new songs and the artist family/personal life is important.

100% of people asked agreed that the main image of the artist is the most important aspect on the front cover. This confirms to me that the image should cover a large majority of the page.
