To manufacture the print advert me and my group members researched a range of different existing professional adverts, especially running/fitness ones as they gave us the best idea what sort of image to use. We found out that the most common image for running adverts was an in action close up shot of legs running so after discovering this we gathered a group of people and went outside to capture the image. After doing this we imported the image into photoshop and started the editing by applying a black and white effect along with minor adjustments to colour, contrast and brightness. Next we worked our way around the whole image with the cropping tool to zoom in on the section we wanted to focus on as it represented running the best but also carrying out this cropping made the image tighter. After doing this we used the lasso tool and then the fill option with content aware function to get rid of the bins featured in the background making the image look neater and higher quality.

The next stage of creating the print advert was to add a blurred effect to the image creating the effect of speed and movement making the advert look more exciting and creative. This stage was very hard and involved cutting each individual leg out. After that we had to make a duplicate of the layer and then applying the motion blur. When doing this we did multiple iterations of the technique but it rendered the final too blurry at times before we came to this version which is what we used in the finished product.

The last stage of creating the print advert was to add and organise the title, tagline, BBC ONE logo and scheduling, all of the above was done using the text tool and by important an image of the BBC ONE logo. To make the text stand out we used the drop shadow tool to create black shadows to the text positioned slightly to the right to follow the marks of the blur effect on the runners legs. The shadows also make the text stand out from the background by creating a contrast of light and dark.
