• The University had to make a number of decisions on the implementation of e-learning programmes.

• The university expects to have all programmes offered on the e-learning platform in 5 years

• Started with 5 pilot phase programmes• Mainly targeted popular evening and

programmes that largely attract the working class

Funding

• The university council allocated Ksh. 50m in the 2015/16 FY for the pilot phase

• Budget for the establishment of the e-campus [for basic infrastructure & launch of pilot phase programmes]

E-content development

• Academic staff in respective depts trained on e-content development

• E-content development template developed to guide faculty

• E-content developed/course materials subjected to peer review

LMS

• Modular Oriented Object Dynamic Learning Environment [Moodle] was customized/adapted

• E-content developed is uploaded on the LMS by trained staff

Enrolment of Learners and Learner Support

• Successful applicants enrolled in respective programmes/courses

• Orientation [both students & academic staff – use of the learning platform and e-class management
