PROMOTIONConsists on giving information about the product throughout four elements: ●Personal selling●Sales promotion●Public relations●AdvertisingThe final goal is to sell the product o service making some decisions related to personal selling, sales promotions, public relations and advertising.

PERSONAL SELLING

●The company hires salesmen, people who are in contact with customers in order to persuade them and to sell the product.●Salesmen are often used to sell cars or home improvements when the margin is high.

SALES PROMOTION

●All kind of promotions apart from advertising, personal selling and public relations.●Some examples are: BOGOF (Buy One Get One Free), couponing, money-off promotions, competitions introductory offers (such as buy digital TV and get free installation), a free sample, a free gift and so on.

PUBLIC RELATIONS

●One organitzacion pays to be associated with a particular event, I mean, a social, cultural or sport event in order to improve its image.●Public relations are called sponsorship. Some examples could be: the Olympics or Formula 1. The attributes of the event are then associated with the sponsoring organization.

●A company transmit information in order to gain a response from the target market (public) using the mass media (newspapers, TV, radio, cinema, internet …)

What kind of event would you like to sponsor?●Where and when can you transmit your message in order to arrive to your target market (public)? ●Will you reach your audience by advertising in the press, or on TV, or radio, or on internet?
