HOW DOES YOUR MEDIA PRODUCT REPRESENTS PARTICULAR SOCIAL GROUPS?

My characters was represented as four teenagers and one mafia boss who runs them all. The four teenagers are involved in gangs.

It’s a negative representation but it’s the social norm as how teenagers are represented in the media as gang members. This is a stereotype created by media and shows teenagers as thugs that

are always up to trouble and I try and represent this in my opening as the main character is someone who is misunderstood

and for that reason he is in trouble.

HOW DOES YOUR MEDIA PRODUCT REPRESENTS

PARTICULAR SOCIAL GROUPS?

I tried to create the next Jason Statham as my character is like him from the Mechanic because he is betrayed by the people he works for because they create a massive lie to be the reality and my character is a misunderstood person trying to get back at the

people which made it look like he snitched.

The main character was dressed with a black hoody and jeans which is normal for a teenager and the black hoody is typical to the way normal gangsters get dressed. Another stereotype was

that my character lacked sympathy and as soon as he was confronted he pulled his gun out and shot the other character.

The boss we created was someone who like Godfather in the movie doesn’t do anything physical and he runs things. The boss commands someone to go and get the snitch but he physically doesn’t do anything he just gives money for equipment. The Boss wore a charcoal suit with a black shirt and black leather gloves we tried setting up the image of a mafia boss with this look.
