Big Major Companies

• Major companies such as Universal tend to distribute quiet big budget film such as Thor: The dark world.

• A company like universal is very recognizable and will reach large audiences all other the world. However they are also able to target specific audiences.

• Big companies like this will not really care if one of the films they distributed does not make its money back as they have loads of other films that will be bringing in a profit.

Small Indie Company

• Distributes such as Studio Cannel distributes a number of different film such as very small budget films like In Fear. They even distributed Silver Lining Playbook.

• Small distribution companies reach niche audiences.

• They are able to do more risky things when it comes to the film.

• A company like studio cannel would be the best distributer for our film. As they distribute films such as In Fear which is a British film with a small budget and focuses on a niche audience.

• However it is likely that our film may be independently distributed. For example we could use CreateSpace which will allows us to submit the film and any artwork electronically this is all completely free. Our film will then be available to sell as professionally-made DVDs on Amazon at Amazon.com it will also be able to be sold as a video on demand. It is a guaranteed and instantaneous form of distribution. This will be the best form of distribution if we were not able to put the film in cinema.

Break Free Productions

• Break Free productions is a company which our group created. It is a small production company which only does small independent British films. We thought this would be the most appropriate company. This was due to the fact that Weirdly Connected is a small SyFy film and will not attract larger production companies.
