REPORTING: A report or account is an
information work made with the specific intention of relaying information or recounting certain events in a widely presentable form.
Written reports are documents which present focused, salient content to a specific audience reports are often used to display the result of an experiment, investigation, or inquiry.
CONT… Reports use features such as
graphics, images, voice or specialized vocabulary in order to persuade that specific audience to undertake an action.
One of the most common formats for presenting reports is IMRAD

IMRAD:
INTRODUCTION: why was the study undertaken? What was the research question, the tested hypothesis or the purpose of the research?
METHODS: when where and how was the study done? What materials were used or who was included in the study groups

RESULTS: what answer was found to the research question, what did the study find? Was the tested hypothesis true?
DISCUSSION: what might the answer infer and why does it matter? How does it fit in with what other researchers have found? What are the perispective for future research?
