Research of poses

This front cover of VIBE magazine is a close up shot of Rihanna so I decided to research more of VIBE front cover of their magazines and I have found that most of VIBES music magazines ensure that they use a close up shot of their models. VIBE depend there pose on what the main story is going to be inside of the magazine. For example, on this front cover of VIBE Rihanna has a slight smile and isn’t looking in any direction, this could insinuate that she does not care and is happy. This is why VIBE tries and focuses their pose and relay it to what is going to be inside the magazine.  Within this front cover I particularly like that Rihanna is not looking straight at the camera which a stereotypical artist does when posing for a front cover of a magazine. I have also looked at a range of front covers by Vibe and throughout they use close up shots, with the main person/model who is then placed within the centre of the magazine.

Research of poses

I chose to research different poses which different magazines use, when researching I found this “Classical music” magazine. They have a model that is dressed in white and has smile. This could be them trying to show that classical music is trying to promote happiness and peace. The models hands have been incorporated within this magazine which shows she may be looking for something whilst holding on. The actual cover line is “Standing up to music” this is relevant to the image used, this is because the model is standing up which reflects from the quote. I have learnt that the stories should try and focus with the model. From analysing many of “classical” music magazines it is evident that they choose to use long shots with the models standing in a way in which everyone is seen. Classical music magazine usually always have more than one model where there is more than model they always show the background of the image, like the example given there is a background within both of them.
