Lists names, addresses, and phone numbers of people who live in a specific town, city, or area.
In the White Pages of a telephone directory, people are listed in alphabetical order, last names first.
Their addresses and phone numbers are also given.
Businesses can also be listed in the White Pages.

A special section called the Yellow Pages is located at the back of a telephone directory. That section lists only businesses and services and often includes display ads.
A Thesaurus is a reference book that gives synonyms and antonyms for words. A thesaurus helps you in two different ways:
– It helps you find just the right word for a specific sentence.
– It keeps you from using the same words again and again.
In every library there is a card catalog or a computer catalog.
A card catalog lists all of the books the library contains. Information in a card catalog is written on paper cards that are filled in drawers.
Today, more and more libraries use a computer catalog, in which information is entered on a computer program. Either catalog is the place to go to begin your search for information.
Catalog Entries
Whether on cards or on a computer, a library catalog contains three kinds of entries:
1. Title entries begin with the book’s title. When a title begins with An, A, or The, the entry is filed under the next word in the title:
Worst Day I Ever Had, The
2. Author Entries begin with the name of the book’s author. The author’s last name is listed first:
McMane, Fred
3. Subject Entries begin with the subject of the book:
