Introduction Since its establishment in 1990, Rock In Prevention has

taught 1.5 million students against bullying, peer pressure, and drug use. Using curriculums such as Rock PLUS, Rock In Prevention leverages modern technology to reach as many school children as possible.

Rock PLUS is an elementary curriculum that uses songs to teach children how to cope with issues such as academic achievement, social relations, alcohol, tobacco, health and wellness, bullying, anger management, and media literacy. The evidence-based approach is available in three levels: Level I for grades three to four, Level II for grades four to five, and Level III for grades five to six.

Rock PLUS Every lesson starts with a song that is the main teaching

tool. Students learn from the songs through listening to them, singing along to them, and taking part in class activities testing what they have learned.

The program also incorporates a school-home link where parents get an opportunity to work with their children in a short lesson every week for three months. During these lessons, parents open up about their childhood experiences with issues such as alcohol, tobacco, peer pressure, and bullying. They also discuss the best ways to handle these problems. These lessons not only bring families closer, they also reinforce parental support to children during their most gullible years.
