Role of Youth in Human Development:

Saqib Mushtaq

The engagement and participation of youth is essential to achieve sustainable human development. Pakistan is a developing country and youth in Pakistan makes up about 35% of it’s total population. Talented Pakistani youth has started to bring in more innovation than a matured one. Now we see the youth working in across Pakistan in almost all the fields currently working. From education to films to arts to medicine to engineering to politics, you would not find a place where these young talented people are not functioning. Every day they bring in new ideas such as Street Art Competitions, Sports events, Debates, magazines and the list goes on. In other words. We can say youth is driving force in any society. But today’s emerging issue in Pakistan’s youth community is that they became unconcerned about their surroundings. Hilal Ahmar is not functioning perfectly specially in our small cities and rural areas because there is no motivation or fond in our today’s youth to serve him/herself for their people. In our hospitals where you see a lot of doctors & nurses wounding here and there but I observed that most of them is not serious with their work. If you could back 10 years ago, then you will see that students feel honor to work as a scout whose basic aim to serve the people at any cost. But now a days, you will not find these warm-hearted people anywhere in our surroundings. Role of social media is really very important to construct a motivational power in young people that they serve him/herself for development of the nation. Social media should must have to telecast such type of programs who create awareness & inspiration among the youth of Pakistan and also arrange educational activities like debates, life events of supportive & sympathetic people on their channels who will be very effective to create constructive awareness among the youth of Pakistan. Young people in our universities should make such societies who gave

selfless service to the students as well as those children who are working hard in uni-

versity markets with small income. We should try best to push them to the school where they learn for their best survival. Now it’s up to youth to decide whether they’ll move on like a zinda laash or a like a spirited person full of hopes of a better future. Thank You!
