Rubella
Rubella is an acute childhood disease, usually mild, of short duration (3 days) characterized by fever, lymphadenopathy and maculopapular rash.
Congenital anomalies may occur if mother suffers from infection during first three months of pregnancy known as ‘Congenital Rubella Syndrome’. Rubella infection inhibits cell division which causes malformations and low birth weight.

These defects occur singly or in combination are known as “Congenital Rubella Syndrome (CRS)”.
Children: Rubella vaccine along with measles vaccine at the end of 9 months.
Females: At 15 years, with the first dose of TT.
Prevention:
