The SAT consists of three major sections: Writing, Critical reading
and Mathematics. The assessment typically takes about four hours to get done with. The sections are filled with multiple choice questions as well as an essay. These sections are scored individually on a scale of 200 to 800. Correct answers earn positive scores while wrong answers result in a deduction of 1/4th the mark assigned to that particular question.
