• Generally positive outlook on the current schedule

• Strong desire for collaboration, remediation

• Little interest in traditional block schedule, maintaining the current lunch period

• Departmental variation with semester courses, extended period

• UDSD must determine its priorities and how it wants to educate its students

• Interest in a Modified Block Schedule ~ 3 days regular periods & 2 days block

• Rotation of Periods on traditional schedule days would allow more fairness in class meetings

• Extended Periods (on modified block days) would be helpful especially to science/technology

• Time for collaborative meetings with colleagues could be allowed on modified block days

• Debate over using school hours for club meetings, etc

BELL SCHEDULE - WE LIKE…..

• Easy to follow• Traditional• Simple and sequential• Constant/regular• No rotation of periods/classes• Headstart/Eastern - Can be scheduled in

current system• Homeroom Period - Good start to the day

BELL SCHEDULE - WE LIKE…..

• See all students every day (5 classes per day)• Yearlong schedule vs. semester• 30 minutes is adequate for student lunches• Length of each class (vs. Block Scheduling)• Proven system, i.e. “it” works• Music classes should be seen every day• One prep and one duty

BELL SCHEDULE – WE DISLIKE…..

• 4TH Period - One hour long/unequal periods • Athletes always miss 7th Period• No double lab periods• AP Stat/Science - miss other classes (15-20

each grade) due to lab periods• Activities disrupt the schedule• U. D. bell schedule vs. Eastern bell schedule• Inadequate passing time

• No time for collaboration, planning time and remediation

• Homeroom Period - TV Studio needed for morning announcements

• Announcements during Homeroom and 6th Period

• No designated time for assemblies• Schedule Homeroom Period later in the day• Lunch period• Option Period

IF I WERE KING OR QUEEN…..

• Advisory Period - 25 minutes - 1 Period every 4 days

• House system (G.A./Hogwarts Model)• Double lab periods - Science/World Language• Similar to: Radnor - M-W-F - Regular Schedule• T-R - Rotating• P. W. - Special Schedule - Every other

Wednesday• Time/periods for remediation or periods
