Test 1
A Belizean School Day
We start school at 8:30 am, and when the bell rings we stop
playing outside and line up in
two lines at our door. One line for girls, one line for boys.
As you can see behind us,
many of us bike to school, or walk. Only a
few take a bus from farther away, or get
dropped off by parents.
Some of us live far away.
We go to a Catholic school so we pray every morning, say Grace before and after lunch,
and pray at the end of the day.
On Mondays, our whole school goes to in thechurch for announcements, prayers,
the National Anthem, Pledge to Belize and the Tribute to the Belizean Flag.
Before lunch we do Religion, Math and Language Arts. We are learning about sentences, multiplying and regrouping.
We have lunch from 11:30 to 1:00. People
who live close go home, some
who live far stay. While we wait
for class to start again, we play math games with cards or
play outside.
We just finished learning about national symbols and the solar
system. We made a paper mache solar
system.
After lunch we have classes like Spanish,
Penmanship, Science, Social Studies and Music,
Art or P.E.
We have two 15 minute breaks, one in the morning and one in the afternoon. We play outside in the grass or on the small outdoor basketball court. Our favorite
games are tag and football.
We go home at 3:30, after we do duties. We
take turns sweeping the class, fixing the books, erasing the
board and fixing desks.
That is our day at school!
We hope you liked learning about school
in Belize!
