The target audience for my trailer is going to be older

teenagers and adults. I have chosen this specific age because there is going to be

blood and gore put into it, and it wouldn’t be appropriate for anyone under the age of 15.

From researching different kinds of films we decided to use the

idea from Friday the 13th. This is also a film where teenagers go on

a road trip and camp out.I took a few screen shots from the

trailer to get an idea of what I was going to take from the film Friday the 13th and put into my

trailer.

I also looked at Wrong Turn 2 as an idea for my trailer. This also has the same genre as I want my trailer to have.

From looking at this I found that there was a lot of blood and death. This is

where I got the idea for my trailer from. By doing this it will emphasis the fact that it is a horror film. I have taken a few shots out of the trailer to shown

ideas of what I may do to mine.

There is also be many

sound effects such

as screaming, scary music and sounds to show the

intense atmosphere.

From looking at several film trailers we decided to use similar sounds in

our film. The most common sound effect that

was used in these films was screaming. We decided that we

would put this effect into our film as it makes the scene more intense and the audience get more interested in what is going to happen throughout

the rest of the film.

Page 12: Seconardy Research

Other sound effect that are going to be edited into our

film will be;

Heavy breathing Car tyres screeching

Weapons Mobile phone ringing

Footsteps

Page 13: Seconardy Research

We have decided to use a range of different shot types throughout our film in order to make scenes more

effective and look realistic. By looking at other trailers with the

same genre as what our film is going to be, we have realised that

the shot types that we have chosen will emphasis the effectiveness of

the different scenes.

Page 14: Seconardy Research

Close up - to show the audience a better picture of what is happening. This will be used when Carter is tied to the

tree.

Long shot - the audience will see the whole shot properly. We are using this shot when Carter is gone and Jenny

screams.

Mid shot/ two shot – focused on certain people talking.

Point of view shot - the audience sees how Carter is feeling and what he can see from his eyes.

High-angle shot - this will let the audience see the scene of everyone running away from an aerial view.

The shot types that we have chosen are as follows;

Page 15: Seconardy Research

Low-angle shot – using this will make show the audience the car wheels going past.

Split screen – this will show phone calls between different people at the same time.

Wide angle shot – the audience will be able to see a bigger picture of the destination where the group are

staying.

Panning – this shot will let the audience follow the camera when everyone is running This will make it

more mysterious.

Low panning angle – this will get the audience suspicious because they will only be able to see the

wheels of the car at the start of the trailer.

From looking at these films it has helped us a lot and made us realise how I want to set out our trailer.

By doing this also it has given us a head start to which parts of our film we are going to include into our trailer and the different types of sound effects and

camera angles to use. This will then encourage our target audience to want

to go and watch the film.
