2. Selection Tools What type of access does a library have to the resource? Is a subscription needed or is it open access? Are there only book reviews or are there other materials provided? What format is the resource in? Print, digital, or both? Can the resource be used for other collections or just Teen Fiction collections? Is the resource well-organized or is it a chore to track down the information needed? 3. NoveList NoveList is supported through EBSCO and requires a subscription to access the content provided. Users can choose to search for Teen Books separately Multiple reviews are given for each book Noteworthy Book Reviews from sources such as BookList School Library Journal Publishers Weekly 4. NoveList 5. NoveList Continued Professional Tools Articles Newsletters Library Promotional Guides Book Award Lists Michael L. Printz Award Phoenix Award Agatha Award Carnegie Award 6. Kirkus Reviews Provides book reviews through a magazine & their website at https://www.kirkusreviews.com Provides reviews for current book and books that will be coming out soon. There is no subscription needed to access the online reviews, but users must subscribe to receive the magazine. 7. Kirkus Reviews Well-organized site that provides open access to book reviews and resources Kirkus Reviews magazine does require a subscription Kirkus Pro Connect for additional features, but probably not worthwhile for libraries. Great resource for finding Teen fiction books both old and new. 8. School Library Journal (SLJ) 9. School Library Journal (SLJ) This tool provides reviews and information geared towards school libraries, but this information can be used by public libraries too. Individual reviews as well as annual lists are also provided each year. Adult Books for Teens List is a unique list that provides recommendations for appropriate adult reads for teens. 10. SLJ Overall Great resources for librarians Reputable and reliable Offers the perspective of a school library rather than just public Highly recommended tool for developing a Teen Fiction Collection 12. YALSAs Teen Book Finder App Currently featured on Apple products, but an Android version will arrive later in 2014 This app provides users with books that have appeared within the past 3 years on YALSAs awards & lists. Allows users to search for books by author, title, award year, genre, award, & by BookList.
