BALANCED DIET Eating a balanced diet means that we eat the correct quantity and proportion of nutrients to meet the body’s requirements to work efficiently and to be healthy.

HOW MUCH SUGAR? In groups of 4 look at the different food/ snacks and estimate how many sugar cubes each contains. Record your estimates on your sheet. (Do not look at the nutritional information)

READY FOR A CHALLENGE? Challenge: Your daily recommended amount of sugar is 30 grams. Work out how much of your daily sugar allowance is used in each item. E .g, 5g = 17% of your daily amount 5/30 x100 = 17%
