Skeletor, a villain from the 80’s Saturday morning cartoon “HE MAN” coupled with

positive affirmations from Louise Hay a well known self-help guru.

The juxtaposition, coming together of opposites, make this page successful and

these memes hilarious.

How has the artist created sucha successful series of memes?

What is the format?

How can I replicate this technique intosomething similar yet mine?

INTERPRETThe artist must have had videos of the old cartoon, DVD, Streaming, YouTube, etc. Maybe she took a screen shot of the frame she thought worked well with the daily affirmation.

The artist needs a text layer with a thin black stroke applied to white text.

The type is all caps, a thick blocky font. Ariel Narrow Bold? Helvetica Condensed Bold?

UNDERSTANDIf I were to do this I would take screen shots of the cartoon while playing them on my computer

I will have to use quotes of some kind that are out of character for the depicted character

Do I want to create a tumblr or facebook for my character? NO lol

I’ve decided to seek out Winnie the Pooh cartoons on You Tube for this project

And juxtapose the images with Anton LaVey quotes from the satanic bible…

One is a screen shot from a YouTube video and theother is a type layer with astroke applied

I used the character panel >to set the font, the font size,

the leading and indicate bold.

I think it worked but I prefer Skeletor is Love!

If I were to do this in a more refined way I would need a better video source and I think thekerning on the font needs to be tighter.
