Slides based on Seerah Series done
by Yasir Qadhi SLIDE#: SL2.1TOPIC: SPECIALITIES OF THE PROPHET MUHAMMED (SWS)
PART I (00:00 – 11:16)
• Every prophet came in the perfect image and perfect character
• Every one of the prophets were beautiful inside and out
• This was so that people would not reject based on the image of the prophets
• Sahabas could not describe in words the beauty of the prophet
• Side note: amongst the Kafir there are those with good hearts
• There was a Sahaba (Amer) that said that there was nothing that he got more peace from than the face of the Prophet (sws) and he never got tired of looking at the Prophet and yet if you were to ask him how he looked, he could not describe him
• However, Amer could not stare all the time out of respect so this is why he could not do justice in describing the Prophet (sws)
• Amer was a nobleman of the Quraish and yet this is how he felt
• He could not stare as much as he’d like
• Most of the physical descriptions of the Prophet came from the younger Sahabas
• Annas was one of the young ones. He gave one of the most explicit descriptions of the Prophet. He said that the Prophet wasn’t too tall or too short – he had a medium stature. The Prophet was not extremely white nor was he ruddy brown.
• Generally, when Arab used the word “white” they are referring to light brown – not what we consider the Caucasian white.
• The Prophet(sws) was lightish brown.
