Page 3: Sl4.4 Seerah of the Prophet Muhammed (sws)

• Salman was given three signs that he is the Prophet(sws):– 1. He will be in the land of dates– 2. There will be physical seal on his

back, between the shoulder blades– 3. He will accept gifts but not charity

– Salman is told Khaibar is where there is lots of dates.

–When he tried to get there, the people he asked to take him, they tricked him and took him as a slave

Page 4: Sl4.4 Seerah of the Prophet Muhammed (sws)

• Salman was then sold to some Jews who lived in Yathrib, later known as Madina

• For decades, he lived there as a slave • Rumors began to spread that a man

claimed to be a Prophet and he was coming to Medina

• The Yahud were scared because they thought the king of the Arabs was coming

• Salman overheard his master and brother talking about the Prophet coming

• He was excited and asked his master

Page 5: Sl4.4 Seerah of the Prophet Muhammed (sws)

• The master smacked him • One day, after his chores are over, Salman

goes to the Prophet and offers him some charity

• The Prophet gives it to others but does not take it himself

• The second day, the man brings dates and says this is a gift. The Prophet shared it and also ate some himself.

• Salman got excited. • For the last sign, he tried going behind the

Prophet to see and followed him around

Page 6: Sl4.4 Seerah of the Prophet Muhammed (sws)

• When the Prophet realized what was going on, he lowered his shirt so that Salman could see the seal

• Salman started crying and told the Prophet the whole story

• The Prophet said he would help to free him from slavery

• When Salman's owners found out that the Prophet wanted him, they asked for a ridiculously big price

Page 7: Sl4.4 Seerah of the Prophet Muhammed (sws)

• They asked for many date trees• The Prophet helped grow those trees

and then free Salman• Salmans story shows that there were

only a few Christians left• Another story that shows this is the

emperor Hiracleus (an educated politician)

• When the Prophet sent letters to different leaders, Hiracleus was one of them
