How to set up the lab for a lesson…• 1. Make sure the computer is on• 2. Turn on the SMART-Podium (the power button is on

the top right corner, the light will turn green when it is on)• 3. Turn on the projector (press the power button on the

white box on the wall 2x)• To project the computer-press computer button• To project a DVD/VCR press the DVD/VCR button

• 4. To play audio, or use the microphone: Flip the switch on the SMART-audio box to the ON position, the light will be red.

• If you would like to use one of the microphones, you have a choice between the hand held mic, or the neck mic., make sure these are powered on

Enough with the boring stuff.. Lets connect to SMART-sync.

The teacher will need to create a “new class” with SMART-sync

This can only be done from the computer I am on right now.

To connect to smart sync go to Start>Programs>SMART software>SMART-sync teacher 2010.

Now your students are ready to connect to your class.

Connecting your students to SMART-sync

• An orange box will automatically pop up in the bottom right of your screen. Click “connect” if this box does not appear then…

• Go to Start>Programs>SMART Software>Shortcut to SYNC client OR SMART Student 2010

Once connected, you will be able to see every move your student is making!

Monitoring Student Computers

Thumbnails icon or View (From menu)- •Arrange by student name or classroom arrangement

•Thumbnail arrangement - alphabetically by computer name can repeat for each session - File >Save Class As - choose period name, etc.

•You can choose to display the students “Thumbnail Name/Description” - typed in name or log in ID

•double click window to see what they are working on and will bring up - or select window OR click observe button
