An overview of I Will, I Swear:•Their desired look•The public’s view on the band•Any ongoing themes

If we look at a mainstream video on YouTube, such as the new ‘Anaconda’ by Nicki Minaj, we see there are over 300 million views.

There are a lot of dislikes to go with this, as well as a lot of hateful comments over the song, the video and the artist herself.

In comparison, we see here that the video for our chosen song has a very low number of views on YouTube.

However, there is only 1 dislike, and all the comments we see are very positive, showing that the song is very likeable, so it was definitely a good song choice.

The low number of views highlights to us that this is a indie song and so not many people will know it. This means it will intrigue our audience more, and will give them more interest in the video rather than a song they have heard played over the radio many times before.

On Twitter, again we see the contrast between how well known the artist is.

With 620 followers compared to 18.4 million of Nicki Minaj, this again supports our video to represent an indie genre instead of conventions from a typical mainstream song.

The number of likes is barely anything for I Will, I Swear compared with Nicki Minaj’s 45, 242, 506.

The theme for Nicki Minaj is also a lot bolder too with bigger dramatic fonts and bright reds.

However, I Will, I Swear use a more simplistic feel to achieve this calm attractive look, which we can apply to our digipak and magazine advert.
