Literacy in India is key for socio-economic progress. Thelevel is well below the world av. literacy rate of 84%. Indiacurrently has the largest illiterate population of any nationon earth. It would take until 2060 to achieve universalliteracy at the current rate of progress. 35% aged less thanliteracy at the current rate of progress. 35% aged less than15 & 28% between age 15-35 are illiterate.
