Start and End of Month of Ramadan

There is also the hadith of the Emir of Makah, al-Harith ibn Hatib, who said: " The Prophet (Peace Be Upon Him) ordered us to perform the pilgrimage and sacrifice upon the sighting of the new moon. Majority of Ulma however argues that the observation of the two witnesses is required in the case where the observation of a single person is not expressed verbally and explicitly, in the case where that person waved his hand from the top of a mountain.
