STRATEGIES FOR CLASS:How to manage your art history course 

Use your student work folders in ARTStor to create your own “museum without walls;” a body of images to play with, to study from, to teach from. You start either by looking up some images from the course folder (appearing in our core image list) or doing your own search and creating a new image group to save to your student work folder. (click “organize” and “save selected items to new group.”) You can add as many as you want. You can also add notes to them. You can download them.OR…if you don’t care so much about zooming, use Powerpt, Picasaweb, etc.

IN CLASS: Harnessing your inner multitasker.

Confused about what you need for work in class?  (aside from caffeine of course!)

Every class period, you should be ready with your • image list, printed out, or on your mobile device (better for text than pictures, maybe)• online connection to ARTSTor, plus Bing, FLickr, etc. (or two at once, in separate browser window/tabs)• textbook(s). In front of you.• other reading material: pdfs online or printed out, your choice.

This way you can look up the information you need, quickly. Note-taking: On your computer/device; in a notebook; whatever works most easily for you. You could even add notes to your ARTStor image folders.
