Geometric object drawing

Objective:

Geometric perspective (sometimes called linear perspective) makes subjects in a drawing look like they recede into distant space, appearing smaller the farther they are away from you. Geometric perspective can also create the illusion that you are either above or below the subject of a drawing. Using geometric perspective makes your drawings appear three-dimensional (rather than flat), and more realistic.

Line hatching

Objective:

Hatching is an artistic technique used to create tonal or shading effects by drawing (or painting or scribing) closely spaced parallel lines. When lines are placed at an angle to one another, it is called cross-hatching.Hatching is important in linear media.Students will use the technique, varying the length, angle, closeness and other qualities of the lines, most commonly in drawing and linear painting

Shading and tones work.

Objective:

Shading is a technique of varying tonal values on paper to represent the shade of the material as well as placement of shadows. Students should pay attention to reflected light, respective shadows and highlights that can result in a very realistic rendition of the image.Blending uses an implement to soften or spread the original drawing strokes. Blending is most easily done with a medium that does not immediately fix itself such as graphite, chalk, or charcoal.

Objective:

The aim of this assignment is to understand the psychology of colours.

Students have to make shades, tints and tones of any primary colour in reference to interior design.

Will help the students to imagine, visualize and develop the colour scheme of any given space.

Furniture drawing one point perspective with multiple chairs

Objective:

A drawing has one-point perspective when it contains only one vanishing point on the horizon line. Students can typically make use of this type of perspective for images of roads, railway tracks, hallways, or buildings viewed so that the front is directly facing the viewer.

Students will be asked to draw several drawing of the same furniture piece from different angles in one point perspective.

Objective:

There are a few key concepts of one point perspective:

Point of view Picture plane Horizontal line Vanishing points Converging lines

Through this exercise students will learn how to draw an object in one point perspective along with its surrounding. This exercise reinforces the concept of one point perspective because the students would be drawing the object and the surrounding both in one point perspective, they will be learning how to compose a drawing.

1 hour 30 minutes

Drawing board offset sheet Pencils: 2b, 4b, 6b Eraser

Location/setting:

Space: IVS common room. The object being used for this exercise should ideally be a furniture piece like a chair or a bench. The surrounding for this exercise should be three walls formed in a U shape emphasizing the concept of one point perspective.

One point perspective of a space with an addition of a chair in two point perspective

Objective:

Students would be asked to draw the surrounding in one point perspective with addition to learning two point perspective for the one furniture piece in the surrounding space.

Two-point perspective in a drawing comes into play when it contains two vanishing points on the horizon line.
