Sumdog Explanation

Sumdog is a mathematics program made for kids. Sumdog now has exercises for reading and writing. This website is played all over the world.

It is free to sign up but you will not have access to all of the games. When a teacher signs you up, you can play against your classmates and friends at school. If your parents sign you up, you can only play against the world and the NPC’s (No Player Controlling).

There are a lot of games to choose from, e.g. kiteboarding, bunny hop, junk pile and basketball.

When you finish a game, you earn coins to spend at a shop (which is closed at 9:00am – 3:30pm, school hours), where you can buy clothes for your avatar (person). Your best score will be recorded; unless you choose a skill (e.g. division or addition).

You also rank as an animal, as a player. You move up to another animal once you have earned enough coins. You start off with common animals and move on to extinct animals. This encourages competition amongst students.

A premium account gains you access to more clothes and more games.

Sumdog is a cool way to make maths fun! No wonder teachers and parents are signing up children to it.
