• The majority of the feedback was positive, saying it interested them.

• Some people were confused as to what the genre is, but that could imply that these people would not be part of the target audience.

• The persons comment about growing up in the 90’s show us that our target audience will actually spread over a larger group of people with a larger variety of ages.

What is your opinion of the ‘indie’ genre?

What would you normally expect to see in a music video?

• Since going for an indie music video, one of the least voted conventions seen in a music video is nature. Therefore having it in our video will make it stand out and be more unique.

• The story was voted highest which we will use.

• Second highest is the artist/band, however we are making the video unconventional so will make the video different, and simply have this in the background.

What would you say attracts your attention in a music video?

• The results here show us that our video ideas will attract a variety of different people.

• This is because we will include things like:– Inspirational cinematography– Dancing– Colours– Storyline– Feeling and emotion– Landscape creating

atmosphere

Do you prefer if the music video is…

• Story and performance are both equally preferred by the audience generally.

• We are basing our video mainly on story, so the audience research shows that this will be just as enjoyable as performance.

Where do you view music videos?

• We will upload our video to YouTube, as this is the most likely place that people will see it.

• The audience research shows they mostly watch videos online anyway so this we will get a greater audience.

• We can see that the people who took this survey were of all different ages and gender, so for the answers we got, we know that the video will appeal to more people.

What music video is your favourite? (or stands out most to you)

• From this, there are quite a lot of mainstream, such as Nicki Minaj ‘Anaconda’, which we are definitely steering away from.

• However artists such as The Stone Age, Kodaline and Beastie Boys are the type of artists that our audience would listen to.

• We will watch some of these favourites and look into the conceptions and look of the video.

What do you dislike in a music video? (optional)

• A lot of the dislikes here are sexual images like girls being over exposed and showing off their bodies to the world. Luckily our video will not do this.

• Some people also said about over used scenes, or boring imagery. We will make sure therefore that our video has enough depth to it to make sure our audience are not bored.
