Today’s AgendaLearn how to create a Wordle, or word cloud

Create a Wordle about anything you would like--your favorite ice cream, movies, Batman villains, dream vacations, etc.

Why are we doing this? Wordles are not only fun to create, but they’re a great tool to visually organize our thoughts!

Plus, you’ll need to know how to create one on your own about Eleanor Roosevelt for our next unit.

After you’ve created your Wordle, you can customize its shape, font, and color.

To do this, use the menu items on the top left of the Wordle, or you can hit the “Randomize” button on the bottom.

Saving Your Wordle

After you’ve fine-tuned your Wordle and it’s just the way you want it, click the “Save to Public Gallery” button on the bottom right of the Wordle.

You will be asked to provide a title for your Wordle and a username. Since we don’t have Wordle accounts yet, leave the username as anonymous.

Accessing your Wordle

You have several options available for sharing your Wordle: print, blog it, or open it in a new window.

The easiest way to save it for future access would be to take a screen shot of the completed Wordle.

Taking a Screen ShotTo take a screen shot, press and hold the command + shift + 4 keys simultaneously.

This will allow you to click and drag your cursor over the area you’d like to take a picture of.

The screen shot will automatically save to your Desktop
