As you can see there is a colour gradient change between the flash backs making a clear difference between the two.

The artist uses lip syncing throughout the music video when it switches throughout scenes linking the story back to herself and establishing the song links to her life.

Mise-en-scene is used when the actor is singing on her own, using a deserted location establishing she is all alone and on her one in this situation she is in. (stated by the lyrics)

Also, when the Corus says about laying on the cold hard grand the actor is shown laying on the ground creating a link between the song as well as relating the song to the actors feelings

There is a clear difference between the current time in the video to the flash backs. Editing has used camera and lighting to establish similar shots within different settings where different thoughts are established through the lyrics.

Colour has been used to establish these difference to. The colour gradient has been changed throughout the scenes creating different moods. Flash backs consist of lighter colours when reflecting her mood of happiness, where black and grey connotations reflect dull and unhappiness from the actor in her present time.

Depth of field has been used to blur the background, allowing the audience to focus on the importance of the actor in the scene
