Song are another form of poetry- one put

to music.

One of the oldest forms of teaching

language.

Why?

Song provide good context of grammar.

Learning through song involve different

skills.

Songs are authentic text.( Cox, 2008, P 304 )

CHANTS

What?

A repeated rhythmic phrases, typically one

shouted or sung in unison by a crowd.

A rhythmic group recitation- characterize by

repetition.

Why?

Can include physical movement

Repetition let students get into the flow faster.

Through the use of repetition, pupils will be able

improve their ‘automatic’ use of language.

STORIESStories are motivating

and fun- create a deep

interest and desire to

continue learning.

Listening to stories is

a shared social

experience.

Stories exercise the

imagination

Children love stories & this

generate positive attitude.

To the lesson for which the

story acts as a framework.

Stories provide a context for

several grammatical structureProvide contexts for real use

stories for grammar teaching:

children.

- It acts as an effective tool for practicing a

specific grammatical structure.

- Can be used to teach certain language

Have strong rhyme and rhythm.

Children can understand the grammatical

structure through repeating and

considering the poem.

most preferable communicative activities.
