‣ Environment: Acute Pediatric Unit

‣ Adolescent patient (Example: Diagnosis of new onset type 1 Diabetes).

‣ 10 major concepts identified by King for goal attainment and success.

‣ Personal system: Assessment of both clinical and mental perception.

‣ Interpersonal system: Patient must have a positive experience and relationship with the nurse for

successful goal attainment.

‣ Social system: family, friends, social environment. Status held within the environment of classmates.
