The beginningo Found in May 1976 by Vellupillai Prabhakaran and known as LITE.

o Developed into the longest civil war of Sri Lanka.o The aim of the organization was to liberate the Tamil people by getting their own homeland in 1983.

Bombing attacks and 30 years civil war

Invented suicide belt. Recruited children into soldiers. Pioneered new ways to attack its enemy. Used women for bomb attacks. On July 23, 1983, the civil war began between LITE and Sri Lanka government.

The end of the Tamil Tigers

• They didn’t have any support from the government, civilians and even the others countries. •Cause of the death of Minister Lakshman Kadirgamar at his own house.• Karuna - one of the leaders under Prabhakaran gave up the government.• The leader was chased and got caught by the Sri Lanka Army while he tried to escape.
