History of Thanksgiving DayThe early days of Thanksgiving in New England were festivals ofgratitude to God, thanks to good annual harvests. For thisreason, the Day of Thanksgiving is celebrated in the autumn, afterthe harvest had been collected. Thanksgiving in North Americaoriginated from a mixture of foreign and European traditions.Generally in Europe, festivals were conducted before and aftersampling cycles give thanks for a good harvest, and if we togetherafter a lot of work with the rest of the community. When Europeansfirst came to the Americas brought their traditions as the harvestfestival of Europa, celebrating his safe travel and peace. 4.
