But how and where did the bikes come from?

The first bike (known)- The Draisienne- built in 1817, by Baron von Drais.

• The Velocipede, known as “fast foot” –added pedals- or “bone shaker” because of the discomfort of riding it on bumpy cobblestone roads.
The second bike (known)- The Velocipede- built in 1861, by Baron von Drais.
