Story summarize- Mr. Germain confided to Dupin about an important letter
has been stolen from an office in the royal place.
- Mr. Germain try to investigate and find the letter
everywhere in Danton’s house.
- Dupin suggested it may outside the house or with Mr.
Danton,but not.
- The chief carefully searched the entire house, rooms,
spending many days in each.
- Then Mr. Dupin responded for searching he Danton’s
house.
- A month later, Mr. Dupin invited a man and the chief to
his home.
- Mr Dupin told the way he took the letter.
- Inside the instead letter, he wrote that “Your plan was
good, but mine was better. As you can see, I took the letter.”7

Events link to the current society issue
Three important cases in the story that link tothe current issue in Cambodia.
First, investigation case in order to find thestolen letter, it is very similar to a case thathappened in Toul Kork district on Wednesday,June 06, 2012. Phnom Penh police tried to findthe stolen motorbike after the victim filed acomplaint. A few days later, police found thesuspects and arrested them. Then police sentthem to the court.

Second, stealing letter case in the story, with thesame case occurred in Kampot province onOctober, 06, 2011. There was a 28 year-oldpregnant woman entered a house intend to steal aprinter. But unfortunately, the house owner wokeup on time and apprehended her on site at 11: 30pm. Finally, she was turned over to the provincialpolice station nearby.
The last case is using the gun in the public. In thiscase, there has a real story that all Cambodiaknow. It was happened near the Phnom Penh airport on 04/09/2011. A team of robbers used thegun in the public to shoot a woman for money.
